The Comedy Cabaret is on for February. The next show will be Monday, February 25, 8pm. My comedy partner Robin Crossman will be leading the charge and we have planned an awesome lineup. The last two shows have been packed, let’s go for a hat trick! (Is that three?)
I’m going to be making some changes to this site in the next couple of weeks. In particular, I’m going to be taking down the Toronto Open Mics page. I still hear from people who use it so I just thought I would give you some notice.
I’ve also discovered that badslava.com has a bot or something that seems to just automatically track all the Toronto shows and magically keeps a fabulous list of all the open mics in Toronto…and the world! It’s amazing how accurate it is, with apparently no effort too!
I took down the page for listings outside of Toronto awhile ago as I didn’t think it was up to date enough and I’m too busy these days to keep an eye on things.
I’ve also been remiss in not talking about what a great second anniversary show we had for The Comedy Cabaret! (Sorry kids…I’ve been sickie sick :/).
Todd Van Allen of course did a fabulous job hosting, and shared the love with DJ Erl the Sqrl. It was great to see tv star Ali Hassan once again, and the crowd loved him! It was also great to see birthday boy Ryan Maglunob…it’s been too long. It was also wonderful to see Marilla Wex doing her stand-up. Kris Bonaparte showed ‘em how it’s done in Montreal. And Scott Dell hilariously shared his thoughts, many of which are no doubt formed at the library. Dave Code was of course a joy. And it was great to see my Asian son DK Phan.
And thank you to everyone who came out to the show, and ate cake and nachos! Robin and I appreciate your support.
Thank you also to Robin, especially for spending a couple of days baking the cake. And thank me to myself, for all my wonderfulness.
