Chris MacLean is a sought after comedic performer who has appeared on SiriusXM’s Laugh Attack, and at Absolute Comedy (Toronto and Ottawa), Yuk Yuk’s, Second City, Comedy Bar, The Lot, the Great Canadian Laugh Off, Comedy Brawl, and other comedy and storytelling shows throughout New York and Greater Toronto.
Chris has been featured in BlogTO, SNAP Downtown Toronto, Comedy Uncovered, My Mississauga, Google Comedy News, and other media.
In January 2013, Chris published her well-received book How to Start in Stand-Up Comedy: A Guide to Becoming a Comedian in Toronto. The book is an outcome of her blog, which has helped many people get into comedy and has been credited by various comedians as a valuable resource.
Chris is also sometimes approached for acting roles. In 2012, she played the hilarious character of Sheila in the short film Downsize Games, which is currently being featured at various festivals.
In 2010, she and co-producer Robin Crossman began The Comedy Cabaret, a highly successful comedy show which regularly features Toronto’s top comedians and which still continues at the Charlotte Room with a new host.
Chris has worked with a variety of high-profile personalities and has won numerous awards as a professional writer. She has experience acting, modeling, improvising, directing, producing events, and is a former top athlete.
