Chris Brazeau’s Last Show
Chris Brazeau has hosted her last stand up comedy show at Ein Steins beer hall.
Ein Steins claims the longest continuously running free comedy open mic in Toronto at 11 years. The diminutive in height but big in voice Ms. Brazeau has been the show host for the past four years, also rejecting sexual advances from comics for at least that long — both female and male advances too, grrr-row!
I’ve performed at Ein Steins repeatedly and it’s always lots of fun. It’s packed with college boys, girls with adventurous hair, plus a few suits.
Chris invited some of her favourite comic friends to perform for the last show and it was an awesome night.
Chris also dressed in a very hot but respectable dress. For those who didn’t go last night you missed a good show in more ways than one.
I will be marking the change at Ein Steins on the open mic list. Another host is to resume the Steamin’ Heap of Comedy in late January.
In the meantime, Robin and I congratulate Chris on a successful four years and look forward to her future comedy endeavors.
Can Women Be Funny? Hmmm. Can Douches Be Journalists?

Every 4 months I come across some dum dum article written by a dude slagging women for not being funny. Yawn.
I imagine these dudes have their hands too occupied with smaller matters, alone, late at night, in front of their computers, to have actually done some research, attend a comedy show, given some thought to real women they have met, or, think about all the comedic actresses regularly seen on tv. You know, journalistic stuff one might do before writing on that topic, rather than just rehashing false stereotypes and half mary-janed theories bandied about at the bar by guys who are swilling beer rather than getting laid that night.
I’ll write a response to the idea that women aren’t funny in future posts. Meanwhile, enjoy this image I came across. Someone was funny!
