Downsize Games and Comedy Uncovered: Live!

I’m going to be a part of a really exciting live comedy show and short film premiere next Friday! And you should come!

This will be the premiere of Downsize Games, which is the short film I’ve mentioned a couple of times, which is a bit of Hunger Games meets The Office. Plus there will be live comedy, sketch and music by some amazingly talented funny people and musicians.

Dare I say it, this is going to be the super coolest place you could possibly be next Friday. The comedy acts are amazing! And the film, Downsize Games, is going to be terrific! The show is sponsored by Comedy Uncovered, which is a local indie comedy magazine.

I am so impressed by the production of this film, and those who know me know that I don’t use the word “impressed” very often.

Plus the other comics and actors who are booked for this show are AMAZING! Check out their bios on Comedy Uncovered

Whether you’re a film fan, or a comedy fan, this show will be for you! You’ll not only get to see the film, which I think will be awesome, but get to meet the stars and interact!

Plus the show is at The Lot, which is a cool new place for comedy that all the people in the know are talking about lately and is located at 100 Ossington Avenue near Queen, Toronto.

Tickets for the show are a very reasonable at $10 and you can order them online or get them at the door, but something tells me this show will be sold out so order early!

See you for the premiere of Downsize Games on Friday, November 9th, 10pm at The Lot!

Louis C.K. and JFL42

Louis C.K. is coming to Toronto for Just for Laughs!

I am so excited I honestly can’t write about anything else.

If you haven’t heard, he’ll be doing four shows at the Sony Centre on September 27 and 28, 2012.

Tickets start at $99 for a guaranteed spot to see Louis C.K..

As though that weren’t enough, you also get four credits to see some of the 41 other cool things the festival will offer.

And in a fit of democracy the Just for Laugh people will let the ticket purchasers decide the festival schedule. Madness! You, and all the other ticket purchasers get a smart phone based app that will help determine what the most popular events are so if they need to move to a bigger venue, etc., they can. The app will also let you interact with other festival goers and performers in other cool ways.

To buy your tickets or find out more, go to the JFL42 website.

The website also has a promotional video that is really a not so hidden excuse to have an extended boob shot on a model with less than 10 per cent body fat. Ironically, she looks unhappy, probably because she hasn’t eaten in days.

Frankly, I think it would have been more innovative to have an extended boob shot of Louis C.K. being drawn on, plus it would be a hell of a lot more relevant.

I’m sure a ton of comics will be rushing to have extra medical experiments done on them so they can get more money to see Louis C.K..

I also know quite a few comics who will be a part of the 41 other events, maybe of whom have also performed at the Comedy Cabaret. Congratulations to everyone who is a part of Jfl42!
