Softly into the Night…

Some of you may have noticed that I haven’t been posting as regularly as I was in the past. Due to some “job-flux” — aka uncertainty and transition — I’ve decided to turn this blog into more of a regular website to a) protect the work that pays my livelihood and b) maintain a site in case bookers want to find out more about me as a comedian. That means that I don’t plan to actively keep track of the open mic listings as I used to, and will mostly just post occasionally on career highlights or show promotion. I don’t have strict parameters for what I’ll be doing going forward, but generally, my work on this blog will be greatly reduced.

Thank you to everyone who has taken an interest in my comedy career, complimented my open mic listings, thanked me for sharing other insights into comedy, or possibly just got used to following how I was doing. While in real terms the blog has probably been a somewhat modest success – can’t quite figure out the SEO techniques, sheesh! — I’ve been surprised and flattered at both the quantity and quality of people who have taken an interest and given me support and encouragement, and I know I’ve managed to inspire and help some other people in turn. It’s been stimulating, a learning experience and a challenge — all of which I enjoy.

In case you’re wondering, I’m still doing comedy. I performed at Absolute Comedy Ottawa earlier in July. The Comedy Cabaret at the Charlotte Room is still doing well. I’ve been performing regularly at the storytelling nights run by the lovely Marilla Wex and her husband Michael. And I might finally pick up my guitar again and learn to play enough of a chord to be able to perform some more comedic songs. I also have a few other comedy plans in the works that I think I will keep to myself for now.

See you again at my next post, whenever that random time may come.
